Anti-corruption efforts of IAAC appraised

received Country Director Mr. Pavit Ramachandran and Deputy Country Director
Mr. Declan Magee of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at IAAC office on August
24.
Independent Authority Against Corruption (IAAC) and Asian Development
Bank (ADB) have been jointly implementing the Technical Assistance Project on
Strengthening the Anti-Corruption Regime of Mongolia since December, 2018,
successfully. The project team completed a thorough diagnostic assessment of
the case flow of corruption cases. Based on the assessment, it is working to
provide capacity building training for prosecutors, judges and law enforcement
officers and make recommendations for legislative changes that would rectify
the areas identified for improvement.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner General G. Azjargal
introduced IAAC activities, international corruption investigation trends and
best practices and short and long-term action plans in the fights against
corruption in Mongolia. Country Director Mr. Pavit Ramachandran complimented
the anti-corruption efforts of IAAC, especially its recent achievements on
asset recovery and expressed ADB’s supports for future bilateral cooperation
with IAAC.
