Mongolian Parliamentary delegation holds bilateral meetings

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Parliamentary delegation of Mongolia headed by Deputy Speaker Ya.Sanjmyatav held bilateral meetings with delegation from Thailand and China, while taking part in the 137th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The parties exchanged views on developing inter-parliamentary cooperation further.

During the meeting with the Thai delegation, Ya.Sanjmyatav expressed Mongolian readiness to support to open the Embassy of Thailand in Mongolia and asked the Thailand's side to pay attention to opening a direct flight to Bangkok by the Mongolian Airlines (MIAT), the national flag carrier.

The Parliamentary Groups’ cooperation plays an important role in strengthening relations of Mongolia and China, said MP L.Bold in the meeting with Chinese delegation. He also mentioned that members of the Mongolia-China Parliamentary Group intend to visit China in this year.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ya.Sanjmyatav also met Gabriela  Barron, a Senator of the Mexican Congress, who is nominated for the office of IPU President. Sanjmyatav expressed Mongolian delegation’s support for her candidacy.

Gabriela Barron said that she accepted Mongolian request to pay special attention on establishment of Embassies of the two countries and joining Mongolia to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation.
