Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chairman of the State Great Khural (Parliament) Z.Enkhbold received Ms Victoria Kwakwa, the World Bank Vice President for East Asia and Pacific, and her delegation on June 10, in the margin of her visit to Mongolia for the 12th Asia-Europe Finance Ministers Meeting (FinMM12) being held here.

Mongolia has been collaborating with the World Bank and other international financial organizations over the past 25 years, in the course of which it has got some 816 million USD in forms of soft loans, non-refundable aid and technical assistances through projects. The World Bank remains as the trusted partner of Mongolia in making structural changes in every economic sector, introducing the best practices and expertise of other nations, developing legal regulations and institutions and providing cash and noncash assistance, remarked Mr Z.Enkhbold.

I am glad that, with the improving of Mongolia’s credit rating, the amount of financial assistance from World Bank to Mongolia has increased, which facilitated the launch of many projects and programs, Speaker said.

In the margin of IDA 17, the International Development Association of the World Bank is set to implement five priority projects in Mongolia that target the economic and financial sector, agriculture, community development and energy. Project on Promoting Exports is one of these projects, the draft of which has been agreed by the Mongolia Government and the World Bank.

Present at this meeting were also, the World Bank Country Manager for Mongolia Mr Jim Anderson, adviser to the Speaker of Mongolian Parliament D.Lkhagvasuren and other related officials.
