Mongolian soldiers return from Afhganistan
映像Servicemen of military protection unit of the Mongolian Armed Forces have returned home after completing a mission under NATO’s “Decisive Support” mission in Afghanistan. Many of them have received state award.
Over 100 military servicemen of the Mongolian Armed Forces have carried out the tasks in Afghanistan in collaboration with the German army soldiers to protect military camp “Marmal” where 6000 foreign military personnel from 21 countries are based.
- /While guarding at the military checkpoint near the Marmal base, we have stopped repeated attempts to penetrate drugs and weapons to the territory of the military base/.
- /I have been participating in the international military operations for 4 years. This time I have worked as a translator. Our soldiers had an opportunity to practice with the very latest military equipment of NATO coalition whereas military personnel from NATO and partner countries have showed great interest in how Mongolian soldiers were doing field training of the marching and tactical exercises. Similarly, we have learned a lot of things from each other./
The “Decisive Support” mission aims to improve capacity of force ensuring Afghanistan’s national security, train, supervise and assist the military force there. Today, more than 12 thousand military personnel from NATO and partner countries are serving in the Decisive Support mission.
