Training held for newly appointed Ambassadors

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A training for newly appointed Ambassadors to represent Mongolia in 23 foreign countries was held between August 20 and August 24.


Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg participated in the training and presented Mongolia’s foreign policy, and activities, as well as issues to be taken into consideration.


During her speech, Minister B.Battsetseg highlighted that the mission of Mongolia’s foreign policy is to strengthen the independence and sovereignty of the country and to create a favorable external environment for the country’s development. She further stressed the importance of the role and responsibility of Ambassadors in developing friendly relations and cooperation with the world community and consolidating the position in the international community.



“The short-term goal of Mongolia's foreign relations is to implement the goals and measures set forth in the long-term, medium and short-term development policy documents and make a real contribution to the country's social and economic development.”

“Despite the challenging times of the pandemic, Mongolia’s foreign relations is functioning uninterruptedly. The "golden rule" of foreign policy should not be broken under any circumstances, but should be strengthened” the Minister said.


The training was organized by the Policy and Planning Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Multilateral Cooperation Department, the Consular Department, the Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Department, and the Public Administration Department, providing information on Mongolia's foreign policy, diplomatic service, multilateral cooperation, consular activities, human resources of diplomatic missions, financial and budgetary discipline, and staff discipline and responsibility.



A meeting was held following the training between the Cabinet members and the newly appointed Ambassadors.


The meeting was attended by the Cabinet members, Deputy Ministers, State Secretaries, and heads of ministries and departments, who briefed the newly appointed Ambassadors on projects and programs to be realized in cooperation with the host countries.
