National contest ‘Foremost Traditional Script Writers of Mongolia’ for the 22nd year

The national contest ‘Foremost Traditional Script Writers of Mongolia-2018’ was successfully organized by the MONTSAME agency’s “Khumuun Bichig” newspaper for the 22th year and selected its bests in seven categories.

Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh and Director General of the MONTSAME news agency B.Ganchimeg attended the award ceremony, handing over prizes to the inners and delivering remarks.   

The contest is considered as the highest prize competition as four 12th grade pupils are awarded the rights to study at the National University of Mongolia and the Mongolian National University of Education with non-refundable scholarship of Education Loan Fund in addition to prizes of travelling abroad to 6 best participants of other categories. This year, some 3000 participants sent their works in seven categories of the contest.

The oldest contestants were 93-year old S.Jigmedsuren from Sukhbaatar district оf Ulaanbaatar, T.Batbayar, from Batsumber soum of Tuv province, whereas the youngest were Giiguulen, a 2nd grade pupil from Jargalant soum of Tuv aimag and Z.Munkh-Erdene, a 2nd grade pupil from the 67th secondary school of the capital city.

Foreign participants traditionally partake in the competition and this year S.Anis won the special place in ‘Calligraphy’ category, competing with other four participants from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China.

In a category of ‘Creative Work’, numerous works written on piece of wood, leather and bone were sent tothis year contest.
