Three parties agree on raising people’s income

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Representatives of the Government, the Mongolian Employers’ Federation and the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU) have ran negotiations and reached an agreement on raising  people’s income rather than just salary of civil servants.

The negotiations for the 2017-2018 Additional Trilateral Agreement on Labor and Society started on October 24 and the parties made Monday briefing on the results of it.

"Financial burden on low-income citizens in a way of fee will be reduced. The parties agreed to lower health insurance premium by 50 per cent starting January 01, 2018. Law on Personal Income Tax will be amended to raise annual tax exemption of MNT84 thousand to MNT120 thousand. Moreover the parties agreed to allocate MNT55.4 billion in 2017 State Budget and MNT56.2 billion in 2018 State Budget for raise of civil servants’ income. Relevant laws will be amended so that savings and additional income of state organizations would be spent only for ensuring social welfare of employees and increase their salary,” said  Minister of Labor and Social Protection S.Chinzorig.
 
During the negotiations process, the Government met with the International Monetary Fund, discussing on raising state servants’ salary in 2018 corresponding to inflation rate. As a result of the meeting the sides agreed to hold talks regarding the issue in the second quarter of next year.

The trilateral parties also agreed to renew categories and status of civil servants in health sector within 2017 and of civil servants in education, culture, sciences and sports sector in 2018. In addition MNT208.5 billion agreed to be allocated in 2017 and 2018 State Budget for child allowance, food support service and allowance to mothers, who are taking care for their child as well as MNT136.8 billion for pensions.
