Request put forth to increase number of students involved in Turkish government scholarship

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On February 21, Minister of Education and Science L.Enkh-Amgalan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Mongolia Zafer Ateş.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia and the Council of Higher Education of Turkey have established a Memorandum of Cooperation for higher education. Minister L.Enkh-Amgalan expressed his confidence that there will be significant results reached in the education sector through the memorandum.
He then expressed interest in increasing the number of Mongolian students involved in the scholarship provided by the Government of Turkey, and asked for support in establishing a counselor’s office at schools.
In recent years, Mongolia and the Republic of Turkey have been expanding cooperation in the sector of education and science through projects and programs such as the following:
• introducing a welding course at the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution in the capital city’s Nalaikh district,
• implementing a project on producing protein fodder for livestock consumption at the School of Animal Science and Biotechnology of the Mongolian University of Life Sciences,
• renovating the classrooms of the elementary school in Erdene soum, Tuv aimag,
• implementing a project on enhancing the learning environment at the teaching kitchen for TVET students specializing in food and pastry production,
• implementing a project on establishing a 3D design laboratory at the School of Business Administration and Humanities of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology,
• implementing a project on supplying necessary tools and equipment for the Electromagnetics Laboratory at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences of the National University of Mongolia.
