D.Gankhuyag MP meets parliamentary delegation of Japan

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Head of the Mongolia-Japan parliamentary group at the State Great Khural (parliament) D.Gankhuyag met Monday a delegation led by Mr Kazunori Tanaka, a member of the House of Representatives (lower house) of Japanese parliament and chairman of the external relations division at the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).

Mr Tanaka welcomes progresses the parliamentary group at the Mongolian parliament makes to bring the Mongolia-Japan ties up to a new level.

“Our strategic partnership and cooperation have been broadening rooms in all spheres. Reciprocal high-level visits organized last year are clear evidence of it,” said Mr Tanaka and underlined a significance of lifting up the level of the inter-parliamentary cooperation. Economies of both countries would have positive results once the sides succeed in implementin the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), he added.

Mr D.Gankhuyag MP expressed his satisfaction with a visit of the Japanese parliamentary delegation here, and said Mongolians are thankful to Japan for rendering big assistance to Mongolia in the economic transmission period.

“Japan is a strategic partner of Mongolia. This is a valuable of our cooperation. An establishment of the EPA has opened a favorable legal landscape of the economic cooperation,” Mr Gankhuyag underlined. He also talked about three biggest projects in the bilateral cooperation—two-phase credit for small- and middle-sized productions, construction of a new international airport in Ulaanbaatar, and the EPA.

The sides exchanged views on the Mongolia-Japan cooperation in the mining industry, Mongolian export of agricultural products, industrial sector, introduction of technologies in Mongolia, resolving double-tax issues and fortifying the ties of youths’ institutions on tourism.

Present at the meeting were D.Ganbat, O.Baasankhuu, L.Bold, Ts.Davaasuren MPs, deputy heads of the Mongolia-Japan inter-parliamentary group; Yasumasa Nagasaka, Daishiro Yamagiva, members of the Japan’s House of Representatives; Takenori Shimizu, the Ambassador of Japan to Mongolia; and other officials.
