Speaker of Parliament Meets Ambassadors of Russia, China

Ulaanbaatar, December 10, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Speaker of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia Uchral Nyam-Osor received the Ambassadors of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China on December 9, 2025.
At the meeting with Russian Ambassador Evsikov Alexey
Nikolaevich, Speaker Uchral emphasized that strengthening the traditional,
friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with Russia remains a key
priority of Mongolia’s foreign policy.
He expressed an interest in further enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation, noting that the second meeting of the
Mongolia–Russia Joint Commission on Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation is planned to be held in
Russia in the first half of next year.
The sides exchanged views on deepening cooperation in politics, economy, transport, trade, and space research.

The Speaker also noted that preparations are underway for the Parliament to ratify the Interim Trade Agreement between Mongolia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which was signed on June 27, 2025. The establishment of the agreement is expected not only to strengthen the legal framework for cooperation but also to create real opportunities to increase and diversify trade turnover.
They further exchanged views on accelerating the projects to
be implemented within the framework of the Mongolia–Russia–China Economic
Corridor, commencing joint construction works in the areas of road and transport,
and increasing the capacity of freight transportation.
Ambassador Evsikov conveyed Russia’s interest in expanding imports of livestock and meat products from Mongolia and expressed readiness to fully support the practical implementation of the initiatives agreed upon during the reciprocal visits and meetings of the Heads of State of the two countries.

The same day, Speaker of the Parliament Uchral Nyam-Osor also met with the Ambassador of China Shen Minjuan. At the meeting, Speaker Uchral said, as Speaker of Parliament, he will work to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ highest legislative bodies and to create a favorable legal environment necessary to advance practical bilateral cooperation.”
The Speaker noted that in recent years, Mongolia–China relations and cooperation have been actively and steadily deepening across all sectors. The frequency of high-level visits, dialogues, and meetings between the two countries has increased, and the sides have been working closely to align their development strategies and goals, expand trade and economic cooperation, and deepen mutual understanding between their peoples.”

The Speaker proposed holding the 7th meeting of the regular
consultation mechanism between the two parliaments in Beijing in 2026,
continuing the mechanism established in 2014.
The parties also exchanged views on enhancing bilateral
trade, economic cooperation, investment, and the overall business environment.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Speaker expressed
appreciation for Ambassador Shen Minjuan’s contributions to strengthening
Mongolia–China relations.
