PM Orders Priority Financing for Salaries, Pensions and Child Benefits

Ulaanbaatar, December 10, 2025 /MONTSAME/. On December 9, 2025, Prime Minister Zandanshatar Gombojav issued directives to relevant Government agencies to ensure fiscal discipline and safeguard the stability of the State Treasury.
Premier instructed the agencies to:

Prioritize financing for
salaries, pensions, child benefits, social welfare payments, healthcare
expenditures, interest payments, and debt servicing.
·
Freeze all new contracts
and procurements until the end of the year.
·
Examine opportunities to
increase budget revenue by mobilizing additional income from mining exports.
· Assist citizens and businesses in settling outstanding tax liabilities through advisory support without causing undue burden.
PM Zandanshatar also tasked the Ministry of Finance, the General Department of Taxation,
and other relevant institutions to study and present options for effectively
using alternative fiscal tools, in accordance with the law, during the current
downturn in commodity prices.
