Health Ministry proposes extension of lockdown, SEC to make decision

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Today,
the State Emergency Commission (SEC) and the Cabinet will convene to make a
decision on the extension of currently-imposed lockdown.
In accordance with the rising
number of COVID-19 cases in Ulaanbaatar city, the strict-lockdown regime is imposed until 6am of January 6.
In the meantime, new cluster and cases
with unidentified origins have been recorded. Sources reported that the Ministry of
Health submitted its proposal to extend the lockdown by 14 days to the SEC. The
Cabinet will make the final decision at its meeting to be held at 2pm regarding
the proposal following the discussion of the SEC.
As of today, locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in Mongolia reached 776. Clusters in Arkhangai and Darkhan-Uul aimags were halted.
