Meeting of Phase 2 of ‘Combating Gender-Based Violence in Mongolia’ project held

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Key representatives from the Government of Mongolia, the Swiss Cooperation Office and Consular Agency in Mongolia (SDC), and UNFPA all came together for the first Steering Committee Meeting of Phase 2 of the ‘Combating Gender-Based Violence in Mongolia’ Project. 


A. Ariunzaya, Minister for Labour and Social Protection will be co-chairing the Steering Committee with UNFPA Head of Office Ms. Kaori Ishikawa. Joining them in the Committee are the Vice Ministers for Justice and Home Affairs, Education and Science, and Health, as well as management of the National Police Office, National Statistics Office, National Committee on Gender Equality, and the Coordination Council for Crime Prevention.


The Combating Gender-Based Violence in Mongolia (CGBV) Project – Phase 2 aims to contribute to the reduction of gender-based violence (GBV), particularly domestic violence, in Mongolia by strengthening national capacity for prevention and response. It is co-funded by SDC, Government of Mongolia, and UNFPA, and jointly implemented by the Government of Mongolia and UNFPA.
