GMIT Celebrates Graduation of Eighth Cohort

Ulaanbaatar, June 16, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) held its annual Graduation Ceremony on June 13, 2025, awarding diplomas to its eighth cohort of graduates. This year, a total of 42 students successfully completed the following programs:
- Bachelor’s
programs in Raw Materials and Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy and Electrical
Engineering, and Mechatronic Engineering
- Master’s program in Resources and Technology
Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Helmut Kulitz extended his heartfelt congratulations and pointed out that “GMIT enables young Mongolian graduates to contribute to the economic development of Mongolia’s key industries - supporting the country´s growth in line with the Vision 2050 document, that has charted an ambitious and bold course for Mongolia´s development”.
Graduates of GMIT are
in high demand in the Mongolian private sector. This is due to their excellent
technical knowledge and strong English language skills, as all courses at GMIT
are conducted in English. The GMIT places a strong emphasis on practical
education, requiring both a basic and professional internship as part of the
curriculum.
The academic year
2024–2025 was a remarkable one for GMIT, filled with notable achievements,
including:
- Successful
international and national re-accreditation of bachelor's and master's
programs
- Finalization
of doctoral program curricula and clarification of the scope of
involvement and support from German partner universities
- Continued
progress on the construction of a new 5,700 square meter training and
research building which is financed with the support of KfW, Germany´s
development bank.
The GMIT’s activities are being supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) with the Mongolian Ministry of Education.
