4.4 magnitude earthquake recorded in Sukhbaatar aimag

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A 4.4 magnitude earthquake has been recorded approximately 18 km north of Ongon soum, Sukhbaatar aimag.
Specifically, the Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics confirmed that the earthquake struck the area at 7:23 pm on December 5.
As of July 22, in Khankh soum 82,638 earthquakes have been reported this year, of which 222 were 3.5 magnitude or stronger. According to the study of the National Statistics Office, 255 occurrences of 3.5 or stronger magnitude of earthquakes were recorded this year. It means the number of occurrences increased by eight times compared to 2010.
