Forum on welding standard organized

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The ‘Strategic Alliance on
international recognized Welding training’ organized in partnership with the
Mongolian Materials and Welding Association the ‘Welding Forum’ on October 30,
2020. The project aims to provide Mongolia with an internationally recognized
training and certification in accordance with ISO standards in the field of
welding.
For the ISO standard introduction and recognition process in Mongolia six welding ISO standards have been translated into Mongolian within the framework of project. Four professional discussions on Welding standards and precise terminologies were held by Mongolian Materials and Welding Association with the involvement of engineers and Welding teachers from TVET institutions and National universities.
The purpose of the event was to
present the recommendations drawn from previous 4 discussions with broader
audience. Representatives from Mongolian Center for Standardization and
Metrology, National universities, Erdenet LLC, Association of Energy Engineers,
the Energy Association, and private sector: Petroleum, NIC, Railway, Hasu
Megawatt LLC and TVET schools attended today’s forum.
The introduction of ISO standards in Welding training in
Mongolia is a fundamental step to provide highly skilled welders to the highly
demanded in major development sectors of the country such as mining, energy,
railways, oil and aviation.
The project is part of develoPPP.de program of the Federal
Ministry of Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ), a development program
to support public and private partnership. The GIZ is the implemented of the
project with contribution from Schachtbau Nordhausen LLC of Germany and Hasu
Megawatt LLC.
