Mongolia TVET Policy Review Report presented

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On the occasion of International
Literacy Day, September 8, a launch of the final report on Mongolia's Technical
and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Policy Review, released by
UNESCO, was held at the UN House Mongolia.
Present at the event were Minister of Labor and Social
Protection A.Ariunzaya, UN Resident Coordinator Tapan Mishra, Director of the UNESCO
Cluster Office in Beijing Ms. Marielza Oliveira, General Secretary of Mongolian
National Commission for UNESCO S.Uyanga, specialists of relevant sectors and TVET sector development partners.
During the opening, Mr. Tapan Mishra formally presented, on behalf of the UNESCO, the both Mongolian and English volumes of the Report, to Minister A.
Ariunzaya. Moreover, those who co-worked in formulating the policy review report made presentations, including about TVET review outcome and key
recommendations by Mr. Hiromichi Katayama, head of the Section of Youth,
Literacy and Skills Development at the UNESCO, as well as the present state of the
TVET sector, future demands, projects and initiatives of donor organizations by
Programme Manager for GIZ Ms. Beate Dippmar.
At the event, Minister A.Ariunzaya and Director for
Department to Coordinate TVET Policy Implementation, MLSW A. Khaliunaa
emphasized the timeliness of the report and expressed commitment to reflect the
key recommendations of the report in the sector’s policy.
