Everyone’s participation matters in child protection

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The ‘Child Protection Response and
Temporary Shelter’ under Family, Child and Youth development agency was
renovated and handed over by the Swiss Cooperation in Mongolia as
part of the ‘Time’s Up for Sexual Violence against Children’ project jointly
funded by the EU Delegation to Mongolia.
The renovation of the ‘Child Protection Response and Temporary Shelter’ has the
advantage of receiving children affected by violence in Ulaanbaatar, providing
emergency services, and taking comprehensive measures to prevent from potential
dangers and risks.
The opening and handover event was attended by Ms. A.Ariunzaya, Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Mr. N.Enkh-Amar, Head of the Family, Youth and Child Development Agency, Dr. Stefanie Burri (Ph.D), Head of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Mongolia, Mr. Pierre-Yves Lucas, Cooperation Team Leader at EU Delegation to Mongolia, Ms. B.Bolortsetseg, World Vision Mongolia National Director and other high officials.
In order to ensure the safety and comfort in the services
provided to children at the temporary shelter, budget was spent on renovating
the rooms for girls, boys and infants, psychological counseling rooms,
playrooms, kitchens, toilets and evening shift staff’s room in accordance with
the standard; and additional cameras and other improvements were made.
Thus, the opportunities to provide child protection services
in a safe and comfortable environment have been improved. As a child welfare
organization, World Vision Mongolia will continue to contribute to the
development of a comprehensive child protection system.
