Chinggis Khaan Tourism Complex project's management unit convenes

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The government working group coordinating
the project on establishment of the Chinggis Khaan Tourism Complex in Onon-Balj
National Park as part of the Sustainable Tourism Development Project being
implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism convened its first
meeting.
The working group of 15 headed by Head of the Cabinet
Secretariat L.Oyun-Erdene was set up pursuant to the Prime Minister’s order No.
23 on February 20, 2020. It comprises of State Secretaries of the Ministries of
Finance; Foreign Affairs; Construction and Urban Development; Road and Transport
Development; Education, Culture, Science and Sports; Energy; and Environment
and Tourism; Director of the Environment Ministry’s Tourism Policy Coordination
Department, representatives of the Cabinet Secretariat, Governor of Khentii
aimag where the project will be implemented, general architect of the aimag,
and some members of the project implementation unit.
At the meeting, the project implementation unit presented its
plan of action for the establishment of Chinggis Khaan Tourism Complex and its infrastructure and
implementation progress and State Honored Cultural Figure, designer, painter
D.Erdembileg who created the complex’s conceptual design explained his work.
After discussing the current state of energy supply and growth of energy consumption need in the future in Dadal soum, the working group decided to commence the construction of power transmission
line necessary for the project within 2020 and send officials of the Energy
Ministry to Dadal soum to explore renewable energy options in the region. It was
also decided to set up a sub-committee responsible for providing technical and
expert assistance in establishing the complex at the Ministry of Construction
and Urban Development and Energy Ministry.
