Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. During an extended meeting of the state emergency commission held today on August 19, Governor of capital city S.Amarsaikhan introduced about measures being taken for the preparation of winter of 2019/2020. He said “During the winter from 2019 to 2020, there are 1311 projects and measures planned, 67 percent of which has been fulfilled. The wintering preparation of Thermal power plants No. 2, 3 and 4 and Amgalan Power Plant is 70 percent complete. Wintering work performance at the Ulaanbaatar Thermal Power Plant, Ulaanbaatar Electricity Distribution Network and Electricity Transmission National network is around 73 percent”.

According to him, a work to increase the supply of salt and other substances used to improve road conditions during  winter is currently being done and there is a total of 1.5 tons of salt at the reserve of the Ulaanbaatar city. The main issue encountered when ensuring the wintering preparation of the capital city is a transportation and delivery of refined fuel, a substitute for raw coal as a mean of reducing winter air pollution in the city. “As we have been seeing above-average rainfall this summer, there has been unplanned road maintenance works came up, and nonetheless, we are working hard to ensure planned winter preparations on time.
