North-East Asian Power Forum kicks off

/MONTSAME/ North-East Asia Regional Power Interconnection and Cooperation Forum
2018 being organized by the UNESCAP began on October 31 in the Corporate Hotel.
The forum, which will wrap up tomorrow, is being attended by delegates from Governments of participant countries in the 'North East Asian Super Grid' project, energy corporations, scientific institutes and international organizations operate in energy sector.
The first
session of the forum ran under the theme ‘National and joint feasibility studies and planning’ and it focused on the North East Asian Super
Grid.
A feasibility study of the North East Asian Super Grid that involved Mongolia, China, Russia, Japan and South and North Koreas was conducted with financing of the Asian Development Bank and now in the final stage. Process of the report on the study was presented at the session. The session was participated by delegations from the Renewable Energy Institute of Japan, Rossetti LLC, and the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).
The afternoon session ran under the theme ‘International Cooperation in
Energy Sector’, with participation of representatives from the Ministry of
Energy of Mongolia, the National Energy Commission of China, the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of Korea and the Ministry of Energy of Russia.
There is an estimation that establishing renewable energy power plants in Mongolia and supplying energy from them to China, Japan and Korea would be fruitful to all sides.
