Baidrag Bridge-Altai road partially opened

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ 60 km of the 126.7 km road between
Baidrag Bridge in Bayankhongor aimag and Altai soum, capital of Gobi-Altai aimag was
opened for traffic on June 14. The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of
Road and Transport Development B.Enkh-Amgalan, MPs Sh.Radnaased and M.Bilegt,
authorities of the road project contractors, and locals.
General contractor, Max Road LLC, commenced the road
construction that is currently 70 percent complete on April 6 and around 700
workers are working on the remaining part of the road to open it within this
year.
Incidentally, a total of 14 plants and factories are
working to supply materials for the road development project.
The road will not only completely connect Gobi-Altai,
Khovd, and Bayan-Ulgii aimags with Ulaanbaatar, but also bring an opportunity
to boost industrial development and create jobs in remote aimags.
