UNFPA supports national efforts against COVID -19

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ UNFPA Mongolia Country Office has so
far provided MNT 55 million support in the fight against COVID-19 crisis. On
March 17, Health Ministry officials led by Deputy Health Minister D.Baymbasuren
met with UNFPA representatives and received a letter informing of a decision to
grant additional MNT 200 million inter-agency funding to ensure preparedness of
maternal and newborn health care services and prevent gender-based violence.

B.Shinetugs spoke of the country office's plans to hold a methodological session to address
the problems faced in delivering quality and safe medical care to mothers and
newborns in the face of the pandemic and take other necessary measures.
