Governor S.Amarsaikhan: We must not be stingy about investing in our children’s future

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Amarsaikhan participated in the opening ceremony of the 2019-2020 academic year at School no.72 in Chingeltei district.
During the opening ceremony, he had an open discussion with the school children, listening to the children’s opinions. The city governor told the students that he will find a possible solution to their requests, which include having more street lights in the khoroos on the outskirts the city and having school buses.
Wishing the school children and teachers a happy new academic year, Governor S.Amarsaikhan said, “In the academic year of 2019-2020, a total of over 124,300 children are learning at 695 state-owned and private kindergartens, with the percentage of those involved in preschool education reaching 84 percent in the capital city. Of the total of 294 thousand children that will be studying at 253 state-owned and private schools in the capital city this year, over 38.200 children have been admitted into first grade. The city will focus on further developing the education system and improve the professional skills of teachers. We are currently studying opportunities to have the schools have school buses in order to create a safe, healthy environment for children by providing the safety of when they arrive and leave school. We must not ever be stingy about investing in our children’s future.”
