First forum of Mongolian and South Korean journalists takes place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On June 21, the first forum of journalists of Mongolia and the Republic of Korea (RoK) was held with participation of over 25 media representatives from the RoK to discuss bilateral cooperation in media sector and the future of journalism in digital era.  


Opening the forum, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Davaasuren said "The forum is significant to share experiences on developing journalism and technical and technological advancement in information era. The media sector has to provide public with accurate and reliable information."


To exchange information with the Republic of Korea, the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists established its branch in S.Korea a month ago. Currently, the branch is running its operation with eight staffs.


Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Mongolia Shin Sang Kyun emphasized that confederations of Mongolia-Korean journalists exchange their information promptly and it is becoming impetus for bilateral relations. The embassy will render support on developing journalism and bilateral cooperation in the future.
