City administration calls for productive graduation ceremony

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Department of Education of the capital city administration has forwarded a guidance to all schools, private and government-owned, regarding the celebration of graduation.
The guidance concerns pupils of 5th, 9th and 12th grades, encouraging them to celebrate their graduation with purpose.
In the academic year of 2016-2017, 233,545 pupils are studying in 225 schools running in the capital city; and this spring, 19,127 pupils are completing their primary education with 5th grade, 14,182 pupils are completing 9th grade and 15,062 pupils are completing 12th grade, thus acquiring secondary education. In total, some 48,371 pupils are to celebrate graduation this year concerning which the guidance was delivered.
The guidance encompasses several measures to be taken by school administrations including organizing the graduation ceremony on the same day in every district, holding an exhibition event in conjunction with the ceremony, awarding the best pupils at the ceremony, joining hands with parents and corresponding Police units, avoiding organizing trips and camping and following a tree-planting tradition for 12th graders.
Reports on the implementation of the guidance are to be submitted to the Education Department within June 9.
