Deputy PM meets UK Ambassador

February 11, Deputy Prime Minister S.Amarsaikhan held a meeting with Philip
Malone, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of
Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Mongolia, to discuss cooperation in a
number of areas.
At the meeting, Deputy PM S.Amarsaikhan
proposed cooperating with the UK in emergency management by exchanging
experiences, training responders, and upgrading equipment to improve the
services and emergency and disaster response capacity of the National Emergency
Management Agency (NEMA) of Mongolia.
The Deputy PM said numerous
projects and programs are being implemented to increase the capacity of NEMA as
part of its new strategies and objectives and that the UK’s support and
cooperation will give an important role.
Ambassador Philip Malone
expressed readiness to start fruitful cooperation in the area, noting that it is
fully possible to organize experience sharing activities between NEMA and UK
emergency management organizations.
