New 575 cases of COVID-19 reported, total reaches 50,099

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Daily COVID-19 press briefing for today, May 19, by the Ministry of Health reported that 575 new COVID-19 cases were detected in the past 24 hours across the country.
In
specific, 570 new cases were confirmed in Ulaanbaatar city, five cases were
hospital-acquired cases and 78 cases were detected in rural regions, including Orkhon,
Darkhan-Uul, Tuv, Arkhangai, Uvurkhangai, Dundgobi, Gobi-Altai, Khovd, Selenge
and Dornod aimags.
As
a result, the total number of the COVID-19 cases in the country has reached
50,099, of which 43,586 made recoveries.
Today, a total of 3,854 patients are undergoing treatment at hospitals in
Ulaanbaatar city and in the rural aimags. Among
them, 99 patients are in serious conditions.
The
National Center for Communicable Diseases, the primary healthcare organization
in the country responding to the pandemic, also reported six new COVID-19
related deaths, raising the country's death toll to 227.
