Ambassador to Japan holds bilateral meetings

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On February 3, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Japan D.Batjargal met with Takaji Wakita, Director-General of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) of Japan.


Ambassador D.Batjargal thanked NIID for cooperating in prompt delivery of Wuhan coronavirus test kits to Mongolia on February 27 and asked the institute to provide updates on the virus and advice on prevention and control measures.


Appreciating the fact that there has been no confirmed 2019-nCoV cases in Mongolia, Mr. Takaji Wakita said NIID is now preparing to send the next batch of test kits to Mongolia.


The Ambassador of Mongolia to Japan also met with Nobuo Tanaka, Chairman of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation.


Mr. Nobuo Tanaka thanked the Ambassador for supporting the Executive Committee Meeting of the Northeast Asian Gas and Pipeline Forum held last year in Ulaanbaatar, noting that the meeting between President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga and the executive committee members was of great importance.


After Ambassador D.Batjargal put forth a request to continue with the program that was carried out in 2008-2012 to have young politicians of Mongolia get acquainted with the activities of public organizations and the parliament of Japan, the sides agreed to collaborate on the matter.


They also exchanged views on the opportunities for carrying out more exchange and training programs for woman politicians and airing programs about Japanese industries in Mongolia and agreed to collaborate in realizing the initiatives and suggestions.
