Monument for Hero of Mongolia L.Ayush refurbished

Uvurkhangai/MONTSAME/. On
the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of Khalkhyn Gol
Battle, the Monument for Hero of Mongolia L.Ayush was refurbished with the local
funding.
The unveiling ceremony was
held on November 26, the Day of Proclamation, with the wreath-laying to pay
tribute to L.Ayush.
L.Ayush’s biography and
heroic merits and the decree on posthumously conferring the title ‘Hero of
Mongolia' were inscribed on the monument, alongside an erection of the Honor Board ‘Heroes in eternal remembrance’
which listed the names of soldiers of the province, who fought in Khalkhyn Gol
Battle in 1939 and the War of 1945.
Ayush Luvsantseren, born in
1922 in Tugrug soum of Uvurkhangai aimag,
served in Mongolian People’s Army, participating in the war of 1945. While
executing his duty of spying the stronghold of Janchkhuu mountain pass, L.Ayush
entered the focal point of the enemy and destroyed machine gun shooters, but got 11 wounds to death. State title ‘Hero
of Mongolia’ was conferred on him on September 26, 1945.
