Gov’t to fund MNT468 million for eliminating losses in Bayan-Ulgii aimag

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting on August 1, the Cabinet discussed the aftermath of flooding which hit Ulgii soum of Bayan-Ulgii aimag last July due to heavy rains. According to preliminary estimation, the soum suffered the loss worth MNT15.6 billion.
Considering the situation, the Cabinet decided to fund MNT468 million out of totally required over MNT540 million from its reserve. The remaining will be funded from reserve funds of aimag and soum.
In addition, the Cabinet obliged the Governor of Bayan-Ulgii to take prompt action to renovate flood protection dam of the soum.
Moreover, the Cabinet made a decision to fund over MNT1.3 billion required to restore 116km roads in Arkhangai, Bayan-Ulgii, Bulgan, Gobi-Altai, Dornogobi, Zavkhan, Uvurkhangai, Sukhbaatar, Selenge, Tuv, Uvs, Khovd and Khuvsgul aimags, destroyed badly due to heavy rains and flooding.
