Regional summer horse races to be held on July 28-29

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting on June 27, the Cabinet set the schedule of the regional summer horse races.
Summer horse race of Khangai region will be held in Bulgan aimag, that of Central region in Orkhon aimag, races of Eastern region in Sukhbaatar aimag and Gobi region's races in Dornogobi aimag on July 28-29.
The Cabinet obliged the governors of the aimags and the Federation of Mongolian Horse Racing Sport and Trainers to organize the horse races in compliance with race regulations at high-level and ensure safety of young jockeys during the races.
Western region summer race was planned to hold in Zavkhan aimag. However, Governor of Zavkhan aimag D.Batsaikhan delivered his proposal in which he stated that Zavkhan aimag is not able to host the regional event for its central part is suffering drought this summer. Furthermore, there is a necessity to prevent contagious animal diseases spread in Zavkhan aimag. In this regard, date of Western region summer race wasn’t included in the schedule of regional summer horse races.
