Mongolia to cooperate with Cuba in tourism industry

D.Oyunkhorol, Minister of Environment and Tourism put forward a request of cooperation with the Republic of Cuba to Raul Delgado Concepcion, Ambassador of Cuba to Mongolia at the meeting held on March 30.

Cuba, a country known for its university that prepares excellent tourism industry employees, including restaurants staff, hotel receptionists, tourist guides and many others, generated revenues of around USD 6.5 billion to its economy last year by receiving over 4 million tourists.

"As the economy of Mongolia is traditionally dependent on mining and animal husbandry, we need to develop our tourism industry" highlighted Minister D.Oyunkhorol. Then she expressed her readiness to collaborate with the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba.

“Sugar was Cuba's main export commodity until the collapse of the Soviet Union. Since then, the country has become one of the leading countries in tourism within a short term with an annual record of 4 million tourists" said the Cuban Ambassador said in turn. "Mongolia has a beautiful nature and unique cultural traditions. Therefore, Cuba will show all possible support for the development of the tourism of Mongolia".
