Secret History of Mongols illustrated on felt to be presented to public
The Secret History of Mongols, one of the oldest surviving Mongolian-language historic and literary work has been illustrated on 108 meter long felt appliqué and presentation of the artwork to public will be held on September 13 on the Sukhbaatar square. Khan Khenttin Gar Urchuud (Craftsmen of Khan Khentii) company of Umnudelger soum, Khentii aimag initiated this project with aim to inherit felt embroidery applique, a traditional handcraft to future generations. D.Nergui, artist of Khan Khenttin Gar Urchuud company said “We have applied to register this artwork in the Guinness Book of Records. It has been nominated for the longest art piece made from animal origin raw materials, using the longest tread, secondly the longest artwork made on felt and thirdly the most inclusive artwork engaging various nations and ethnic groups”.
World Poetry Days to open tomorrow
Mongolia is hosting a number of events in celebration of World Poetry Days on August 16-22. Information on the event was given at a press conference held at the “Consensus” hall, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the event, the Mongolian Academy of Culture and Poetry will organize various measures with participation of some 200 poets, writers, translators, cultural and art figures from about 40 countries.

Sum Khukh Burd, stone castle ruin to become tourism complex
Museum of Dundgobi aimag has a new building to display its exhibits on the shore of the Khukh Burd Lake, which lies on the territory of Adaatsag soum. Construction works to establish a tourism complex based on the ancient historical and cultural site of the Sum Khukh Burd, a stone castle ruin, started two years ago with the funding of MNT2 billion from the local development fund
