Orkhon Purevdorj Wins Bronze at 2025 World Wrestling Championships

Ulaanbaatar, September 19, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 2025 Senior World Wrestling Championships are currently underway in Zagreb, the capital of the Republic of Croatia, from September 13 to 21, 2025.
Honored Athlete of Mongolia, World Champion, and Asian Champion, Orkhon Purevdorj, secured a bronze medal in the women’s 62 kg weight category. She claimed victory over Nigeria’s Esther Omolayo Kolawole, a three-time African Champion and two-time U23 World bronze medalist, with a narrow 6–5 win.
This marks Orkhon’s second
career medal at the Senior World Championships, having
previously won gold at the same tournament eight years
ago.
With this result, Team
Mongolia now holds four medals at "Zagreb 2025."
Orkhon’s bronze is also the 83rd World Championship medal
for Mongolia in freestyle wrestling history, and the 47th bronze overall.
