Foreign Ministry State Secretary Meets with UN ESCAP Deputy Executive Secretary

Ulaanbaatar, October 24, 2025 /MONTSAME/. On October 22, 2025, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Munkhtushig Lhanaajav received Deputy Executive Secretary for Partnership and Coordination of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) Hirohito Toda.
Highlighting that Mongolia has
consistently strived to contribute actively to regional initiatives implemented
under UN ESCAP, State Secretary Munkhtushig expressed
Mongolia’s readiness to share its experiences and information with other
countries in the region in areas such as developing transit transport and
digital infrastructure. He also underscored the importance of deepening and
strengthening Mongolia’s cooperation with UN ESCAP to advance shared regional
development goals.
Deputy Executive Secretary Toda
commended Mongolia’s proactive engagement and initiatives toward advancing
common regional development objectives. He expressed UN ESCAP’s full support
for Mongolia in hosting the 17th Session of the
Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention to Combat
Desertification, which will take place in Ulaanbaatar in 2026.
