/MONTSAME/. The planning team from the Secretariat of the United Nations Convention to Combat
Desertification (UNCCD) has planted trees at the COP17 project site located in
the National Garden Park.
The delegation, led by Rajeb Boulharouf, Director of the UNCCD Liaison Office in New York, is visiting Ulaanbaatar to review and provide recommendations on preparations for COP17,
scheduled to be held in 2026. As part of their visit, the team toured the
construction site of the conference facilities to observe progress in planning,
infrastructure, and development.
According to the Ulaanbaatar City Governor’s
Office, the delegation also contributed to the Park’s greening efforts by
planting trees. Following their five-day working visit in Mongolia, the second UNCCD planning team will present its report to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the National Committee for Organizing the Conference of the Parties (COP17), and will formulate next year’s work plan.
