Defense Sector to Enhance Exchange, Cooperation

Ulaanbaatar, September 12, 2025. /MONTSAME/. The Minister of Defense of Mongolia, Batlut Damba, participated in the Seoul Defense Dialogue 2025, organized under the theme “Confronting Geopolitical Challenges: Building Peace through Cooperation” by the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Korea from September 8 to 10, 2025. 

 

The Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Ahn Gyu-back, emphasized the significance of the Dialogue. Representatives from South Korea, the Philippines, Croatia, and NATO delivered presentations and held discussions under the theme "Reducing Geopolitical Rivalry and Restoring Strategic Stability." The discussions highlighted that, amid the deepening global geopolitical instability, countries are increasingly uniting under the goal of expanding cooperation in defense manufacturing and advanced technology sectors to build modern and effective armed forces. Furthermore, the participants agreed on the necessity of enhancing information sharing and mutual collaboration among nations to respond to cyber threats and disinformation. They also stressed the importance of joint efforts in technological fields such as artificial intelligence, drones, and air defense systems.

 

Following the discussion, the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Korea, Ahn Gyu-back, held a meeting with the Minister of Defense of Mongolia, Batlut Damba. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening high-level visits and dialogue in the defense sector, organizing joint field exercises, training personnel, and addressing regional security issues, based on the Strategic Partnership established by the Heads of State of the two countries. The two sides also agreed to continue and further develop exchanges and cooperation in the field of defense.

 

The forum was attended by Ministers of Defense from five countries, Deputy Ministers of Defense from eight countries, the Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee, and more than 1,000 representatives from 68 countries and international organizations.
