Baruun-Urt, April 24, 2026 /MONTSAME/. My name is Munkh-Erdene S.. I am a young self-employed entrepreneur and the daughter of an ordinary herding family.

To avoid burdening my parents, I began doing various jobs from the ninth grade onward, searching for my own path.

Now 23 years old, I do not regret not enrolling in university after graduating from secondary school. I realized that skills are not gained only through formal education. I believe the real experience I gained—through trial, error, and hard work—became my education. I learned that true professionalism comes from doing one thing exceptionally well. Some people may think I am still young, but everything I have gone through made me grow up.

When I was 17 and still in school, money was often tight. In 2020, when COVID-19 lockdowns suspended classes, I ordered beauty products online, especially popular Chinese brands. At first, I had no business knowledge and no money of my own. I was worried about how I would sell products worth several million tugriks and repay the debt. At night, I made deliveries by bicycle, introduced products directly to customers, and handled my own online marketing.

In 2021, while entering the 12th grade, I used my profits to build two display shelves and rent an 8-square-meter space in a shopping center, launching my first real startup business. As customers increased, the business became more widely known. After graduating from secondary school in 2022, I expanded the stall into a branch store called QN Cosmetics and began importing internationally and domestically recognized beauty and therapeutic skincare products through official channels.

Today, I am able to advise customers of all ages on skincare concerns to the best of my ability. I also supply products wholesale to soums and neighboring aimags. Additional services now include makeup and training sessions. I continue attracting customers by offering timely discounts and promotions for local residents.

What began with not a single tugrik of my own has grown into a business with monthly turnover of 70 million to 80 million tugriks and more than 300 regular customers. For me, that is a major achievement. I am grateful for everything I have and satisfied with how far I have come.
