Development Road Program backed
On May 10, the cabinet approved the Development Road Program, which will aim at intensifying the developments in sectors of road, transport, energy, communication, mining, industry and tourism, connecting Mongolia with other countries by better infrastructure, eliminating trade barriers and reducing transport costs of goods.

IDA funding programme to be submitted for immediate discussion
General Funding Program, signed by the Government of Mongolia, World Bank and the International Development Association, was discussed by the cabinet on May 10. If backed by parliament, IDA will open line of soft-term credit of USD 79 million, which was allotted for Mongolia for 2015-2017.

Agreement on Indian government loan to be submitted for immediate parliamentary discussion
The cabinet discussed the bill of ratification of General Agreement on Credit Line of USD 1.0 billion between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the Republic of India, and resolved to recommend the parliament to run immediate discussion on this matter.

The Second Consultative Meeting of the Asian countries’ unofficial committee on “Forwarding Biological Safety Mechanism” is taking place in Ulaanbaatar on May 10-12. Mongolia might export up to 200 tons of goat meat to Vietnam
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ts.Munkh-Orgil made press briefing about the ongoing official visit of the Vice President of Vietnam, Ms Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh on May 8. The Council on Mongolian National Brands has been established in accordance with a direction of the Prime Minister. The council is chaired by the Prime Minister, Mr J.Erdenebat. Head of the Cabinet Secretariat J.Munkhbat acts as the deputy chairman and some cabinet members, as vacant members of this council. The national brand council convened for its first meeting and approved its rules and action plan for 2017 on May 5.

ADB 50-Year History Book Launched
An ADB History Book, Banking on the Future of Asia and the Pacific: 50 Years of the Asian Development Bank, was released today at ADB’s 50th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors in Yokohama. It details ADB’s activities from its origin in 1966, decade by decade to the present day. It also illustrates the genesis of ADB regarding different proposals from across Asia and the Pacific, preparatory meetings in Bangkok, Manila and other cities, and collaboration of people within and outside the region to discuss the Charter, membership, and location of the Headquarters.
