Management Positions Reduced by 54 in Government Agencies

/MONTSAME/. The total number of staff in government agencies has been
reduced by 300.
In connection with the downsizing,
54 leadership positions across departments, divisions, and offices were
eliminated, enabling a reduction of approximately MNT 10 billion in annual
salary expenditures.
During the regular meeting of the
State Great Khural on August 20, 2025, the number and names of organizational
units were finalized following a comprehensive analysis of the general
management and structural composition of agencies, including the ratio of
departments and divisions, designation of units, and staffing levels per
entity, and a Government Resolution was subsequently approved.
To foster “Efficient, skillful,
and productive” civil service, the Government of Mongolia is implementing a
phased approach to optimizing and restructuring civil service organizations.
This process involves ensuring a balanced ratio between management and
executive roles, eliminating functional overlaps, simplifying the hierarchical
levels, and improving employee performance and productivity.
