Mayor of Berlin visiting Ulaanbaatar
The Mayor of Berlin, Mr Michael Muller is paying a visit to Ulaanbaatar. On July 17, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Batbold received the guest to discuss about cooperation between two capital cities. “I am fully confident that Your visit is going to be a great impetus for boosting bilateral ties of our countries”, Mr Batbold said.

Camping banned for uncertain period
Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, Mr S.Batbold has issued a direction on banning camping trips and picnics in green zones of Ulaanbaatar due to high risk of forest fires. In accordance, picnics, hiking trips, entry of motor vehicles and other services in the green zones of the city are banned for an unknown period until the level of dryness comes down.

29 thousand people tested for Hepatic viruses
In the margin of the National “Whole Liver Mongolia” Program, a total of 29 thousand people of age of 40-65 have been tested for Hepatitis B and C for free, thus far. Starting June 15th, 142 family health centers have been providing free testing.
Overseas polling completes with 66.8 percent voter turnout
Presidential election polling just ended. Meanwhile, votes of Mongolian citizens outside the country were put in the electronic machine for counting. The diplomatic missions of Mongolia in 33 countries organized the polling on June 10 and 11. A total of 45 polling stations were set up.
Voting ends in Mongolia's presidential election
Polling for the 2017 election for choosing the fifth President of Mongolia ended at 10 PM of June 26, simultaneously throughout the country. Three candidates – Enkhbold Miyegombo from the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP), Battulga Khaltmaa from the Democratic Party (DP) and Ganbaatar Sainkhuu from the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party (MPRP) – ran for presidential office.

Agreement on mutual recognition of education certificates signed between Mongolia and Cuba
The Mongolian Minister for Education, Culture, Science and Sports G.Chuluunbaatar and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Mongolia Raul Delgado Consepcion signed the Agreement on Mutual Acknowledgement of Tertiary Education Certification and Degrees between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the Republic of Cuba.
48th Ulaanbaatar Cup opens at Khandgait
The 48th Ulaanbaatar Cup international boxing tournament kicked off yesterday, June 21, in Ikh Tamir Sports Complex, located in Khandgait village. A total of 121 boxers from 10 countries, including Mongolia, Russia, China, Bhutan, India, Singapore, Taiwan and DPRK are being challenged for this year’s Ulaanbaatar Cup.
Project commences for increasing Mongolia’s place in regional power distribution
A Technical Assistance Project on Strategy of Northeastern Asian General Power Grid Network has commenced implementation at the initiative of the Mongolian Ministry of Energy and the Asian Development Bank. The project research will focus on the details of how to connect Mongolian energy resources with the power grids of other countries in the region. Electricite De France, a leading electric utility company of Europe, is executing the research.
Anti-corruption authority transfers “60 billion Tugrug” bribery case materials to UB Prosecutor’s Office
A ninety-minute audio recording has been uncovered by a man named G.Dorjzodov. Certain political leaders from the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP), including presidential candidate M.Enkhbold, negotiate the appointments to leading public offices for bribe money of MNT 60 billion. The Independent Authority Against Corruption is transferring the materials regarding the alleged bribery to the UB City Prosecutor’s Office on the grounds that the validity of the audio recording is unclear.
Cabinet to propose parliament to ratify intergovernmental highway transport agreement
At its regular meeting on June 20, the cabinet decided to submit a bill on ratification of the Agreement on Conducting International Transport through Asian Highway Network between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the People’s Republic of China.
Chinese government aid to go to Ger area re-planning
The cabinet of ministers resolved to dedicate the non-refundable aid of CNY 2.0 billion from the Chinese government to restructuring of Ger Districts. The funding project is expected to reduce Ulaanbaatar’s soil pollution by 75 percent. General plans were approved and had been halted due to the lack of finance. This issue was solved at the regular meeting of cabinet held today.
International Women's Association of Mongolia marks 25th anniversary
The International Women’s Association of Mongolia (IWAM) celebrated last week its 25th anniversary. The union of madams from different countries for humanitarian purposes and uniting powers for conserving cultural and traditional values, as well as for improving the understanding about each other’s culture, history and economic and social needs, was established in 1992.
Senior powerlifter wins gold at World Classic Championships 2017
D.Altankhuyag, challenged in senior’s 83 kg, won a gold medal in his category, after pressed 152.5 kg. He has secured the bronze medal in overall score at the World Classic Powerlifting Championships 2017 being held in Minsk, Belarus. The championships are to end on June 25. Mongolia is being represented by seven athletes from the Mongolian Powerlifting Federation.
G.Ariunbaatar wins Song Prize Trophy of BBC Cardiff Singer of The World
Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar, winner of the 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition and laureate of the Chinggis Khaan Order of Mongolia, won the Song Prize Trophy together with Scotland’s Catriona Morrison on June 17 at the BCC Cardiff Singer of the World 2017. Having joint winners of the Song Prize is an unusual event for the BBC stage.
Tokyo Komaki Ballet performs The Firebird in UB
Tokyo Komaki Ballet staged a concert in Ulaanbaatar in frames of celebration of the 45th diplomatic anniversary of Mongolia and Japan. The Japanese dancers were invited by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Ts.Munkh-Orgil.
