Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A ninety-minute audio recording has been uncovered by a man named G.Dorjzodov. In the recording, certain political leaders from the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP), including presidential candidate M.Enkhbold, negotiate the appointments to leading public offices for bribe money of MNT 60 billion. The Independent Authority Against Corruption (IAAC) is transferring the materials regarding the alleged bribery to the UB City Prosecutor’s Office on the grounds that the validity of the audio recording is unclear.

Kh.Battulga, the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, has reportedly approached the IAAC, the Central Intelligence Agency and the Office of Prosecutor-General. In response, the Prosecutor-General’s office has set up a working group to complete investigation over the alleged bribery for the course of 14 days.

However, according to IAAC, “it is unclear if the certain political leaders from MPP had raised MNT 60 billion from corruption, according to the explanations and statements made by officials of the State Great Khural, cabinet, ministries, government agencies and publicly owned companies and enterprises”.

Therefore, a total of 337 pages of material has been submitted to the UB Prosecutor’s Office. “Transferring the materials does not mean we have closed the complaints. Investigations are still on”, reported IAAC.
