Ulaanbaatar, August 18, 2025 /MONTSAME/. For the first time in Mongolia, the 17th World Horseback Archery Championship will be held at the foot of Taij Mountain in Nalaikh District on August 21–23, 2025.

This Championship is a flagship event of the “Nomad” World Culture Festival. Bringing together elite horse archers from more than 30 countries, it is historically significant for recognizing the traditional archery discipline of Mongolia, “Bumbug Namnaa,” as an official World Championship category for the first time. The move is seen as a strategic step to promote Mongolia’s unique cultural and sporting heritage internationally and to inspire the younger generation.

From Mongolia, 15 elite competitors, including National Champions listed in the global rankings, will participate. The Championship will also welcome internationally accredited judges and coaches, senior officials of the World Horseback Archery Federation, as well as distinguished guests such as the Vice President of the World Martial Arts Games Committee.
