President Awards Order of Chinggis Khaan to Academician Narangerel

Ulaanbaatar, November 21, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Today marks the 863rd anniversary of the birth of Great Emperor Chinggis Khaan and National Pride Day of Mongolia. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa issued a Presidential Decree conferring the State Supreme Decoration of Mongolia, the Order of Chinggis Khaan, on Academician Narangerel Sodovsuren.
The award recognizes his substantial contributions to revising and adopting key legislation underpinning the implementation of the Constitution; training generations of legal professionals; advancing Mongolia’s national legal system and legal science; and dedicating decades of scholarship to documenting the global legacy, just governance, and peacemaking achievements of Great Chinggis Khaan. He has authored numerous works that fostering patriotism, national identity, and academic discourse.
S. Narangerel is a State Prize Laureate, Distinguished Scholar of Mongolia, Doctor of Law, Professor, Emeritus Professor of the National University of Mongolia, Honorary Doctor of Nagoya University of Japan, and Academician of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. A third-generation scholar and educator, he is a prominent jurist, lawyer, legislator, and public figure. Over more than 50 years of teaching at NUM’s School of Law, he has trained over 30 legal scholars in Mongolia and abroad, as well as thousands of lawyers.
He has previously served as the Deputy Prosecutor General of Ulaanbaatar, Head of Department at the Office of the Prosecutor General, Researcher at the Center for State Policy Studies under the Council of Ministers, Deputy Director of the Academy of State and Social Studies under the State Baga Khural, Member of Parliament, President of the Association of Mongolian Advocates, and Dean of the NUM School of Law.
