Prime Minister Zandanshatar Meets Russian President Putin

Ulaanbaatar, November 19, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Prime Minister of Mongolia, Zandanshatar Gombojav, and President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, held bilateral talks in Moscow, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries.
At the outset of the meeting, Prime Minister Zandanshatar emphasized that deepening the traditional and long-standing friendly relations with Russia remains a central priority of Mongolia’s foreign policy. He reiterated Mongolia’s commitment to advancing the comprehensive strategic partnership and fostering mutual political trust.
President Putin highlighted the active exchange of high-level visits and meetings between Mongolia and Russia, noting that agreements reached during these engagements are being effectively implemented. He expressed optimism that both governments would continue to prioritize and closely collaborate on major joint initiatives, including the construction of a natural gas pipeline from Russia to China through Mongolian territory, and the advancement of the Mongolia-Russia-China Economic Corridor under the trilateral framework.
The two sides also agreed to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Russia in 2026.
Prime Minister Zandanshatar previously met with President Putin in September during the 10th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. Their most recent meeting took place on November 18, 2025, on the sidelines of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.
