Ulaanbaatar, July 18, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Today marks the 104th anniversary of the establishment of the modern Police Organization and the 103rd anniversary of the Internal Troops, as well as the Police and Internal Troops' Day in Mongolia.

The Police and Internal Military Officers' Day is traditionally celebrated annually on July 18 in Mongolia. The matter of police administration was discussed at the meeting of the People’s Government on July 19, 1921. The law enforcement body, originating from the “Fifteenth Guard Police,” was incorporated into the Ministry of Military Affairs under the name “Military Troops,” marking the beginning of the modern police organization in Mongolia.

By decision of the Government of Mongolia made on July 16, 1992, a special unit was established with 13 soldiers selected from the First Cavalry Regiment of the People’s Voluntary Army, who had loyally served the revolutionary cause, aiming to protect the facilities of the Internal Security Department and prison compounds. This laid the foundation of today’s Internal Troops organization. Meanwhile, the Council of Ministers of the Mongolian People’s Republic adopted Resolution No. 25, formally establishing the law enforcement organization.

This day is dedicated to honoring and expressing gratitude to the officers who safeguard the country's internal security, uphold the rule of law, and ensure the peaceful lives of its citizens.

ceremonial event, awards presentation, and honor parade dedicated to this occasion will take place on July 19, 2025, at the Central Stadium.
