Japanese Embassy donates books to Mongolian Academy of Sciences

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On September 2, a ceremony took place at the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS) for the donation of books from the Japanese Embassy in Mongolia to the MAS Institute of International Affairs.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Hiroyuki Kobayashi attended the ceremony to present MAS President D.Regdel with some of the books being donated. This time, over 30 books about the sectors of economy, society, history, culture, and literature of Japan are being donated for the research works being carried out by the academy.
The Japanese Ambassador said, “Although it is common for people to quickly look up necessary information online during the age of the internet, I believe that books carry a hidden power to provide its readers with the inspiration for a new discovery and research, allowing them to think freely. I hope that these books being donated to the Mongolian Academy of Sciences will serve as the main study materials for not only researchers in the field of Japanese studies, but also those in other fields.”
In turn, MAS President D.Regdel noted how the scholars and researchers of the academy have worked alongside Japanese scholars in many sectors up till now, and expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for consistently providing support in the partnership.
During the meeting, they also exchanged views on cooperation between the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the Embassy in the framework of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan to be marked in 2022.
The ceremony was attended by Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Mongolia Yo. Ito, embassy personnel B.Tsogtchimeg, Director of the MAS Institute of International Affairs, Dr. D.Zolboo, and researcher, Dr. B.Serjav.
