COVID-19: 1,566 new cases, four deaths reported

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Ministry of Health today, August
23, has reported that 1,566 new coronavirus cases were detected in the
past 24 hours after tests were carried out at PCR laboratories across the
country.
In specific, 342 new cases were confirmed in Ulaanbaatar city, and 1,224 cases were detected in rural regions. As a result, the nationwide infection tally is now 195,250. The Ministry also reported four new COVID-19 related deaths, raising the country's death toll to 902.
Of a total of 10,928 patients currently undergoing treatment
at hospitals, there are 6,303 patients in mild, 3,542 in serious, 898 in
critical, and 185 in very critical conditions.
As of today, August 23, a total of 2,055,268 people have
received the second dose of vaccines against COVID-19, equal to 63.2 percent of
the total population of Mongolia.
