Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The State Emergency Commission has made a decision to open traffic movement to the rest of the country, with the exception of Umnugobi and Dornogobi aimags starting from May 22.

More specifically, restrictions will continue to be in place in the two aimags from May 22 to June 15. Thus, citizens that work in the sectors of mining, road and construction, and infrastructure as well as government officials on business trips are required to acquire permissions from the Operative Team of the State Emergency Commission. As for those with reasonable excuses such as for acquiring healthcare services, attending a funeral, and returning home as well as the transportation of food, fuel, fodder, and medicines and medical supplies, a permission must be acquired from the Emergency Commission of the aimag.

For other parts of the country, fully vaccinated citizens will be allowed to participate in inter-city traffic movement 14 days after receiving their second shot of the COVID-19 vaccine. They will be required to show their vaccination certificates at traffic checkpoints, which are available on the E-Mongolia electronic platform. Furthermore, those who have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 4 months will also be able to freely travel with a medical certificate.

As for those who have yet to become fully vaccinated or have reasonable excuses, a PCR test is required to be taken 72 hours prior to travel. Upon their arrival, the citizens will also be monitored over the course of a week. However, rapid COVID-19 and PCR tests will not be required for children aged 0-17.
